Patient Education
Patient education is important in helping anyone manage their health and take more control of their health care. At the Family Health Center of Joplin, we have created a patient education program designed to promote communication between us, your health care provider, and you, our patient, in order to improve your health outcomes.
Much of this communication is in the form of preventive information, health promotion and disease or condition specific education. This information can help to improve your health status and/or alter your behavior or lifestyle. It can improve your understanding of your medical condition, diagnosis, disease or disability. It can also improve your understanding of the methods and means we recommend to help you manage multiple aspects of your medical condition.
Our hope is to impart this information to you in ways that ease your fears and facilitate communication between us. We want to partner with you and together find the solutions to help you stay healthy and meet your health care goals and objectives. You play a pivotal role in this process. The better informed and the better educated you are about your health care needs, the better the outcome for you and for us.
